Adam made a promise, to let her go if she decided to stay and he did. This is the second book of the If I stay series, the first book was told form Mia´s perspective, and she talked about other people and about her experiences, but Where she went is told form Adam´s point of view, which was very surprising because the narrative style of both is very different. He mostly talks about himself, about his feelings and emotions, because Adam has achieved a lot of success, but on the inside he is broken in a lot of ways, he has not done well by the fact that Mia has walked out of his life. In this book straight away we found out that Mia and Adam haven´t seen each other in three years. While she is studying in Julliard, Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new famous girlfriend and his rock star status and it just so happens that they cross each other in New York. Chance brings them together again, for one last night, and this book is about their interactions, how they explore, revisit their past and open their hearts to what´s ahead. Gayle Forman is an excellent writer, in both books the characters were so real and their struggles were written in a very honest and real way that you just feel so much for them. I believe that this book is very sad, because I did feel sorry for Adam, but I really enjoyed reading the story, because the author writes incredible, in a way that words can describe, so you will have to see it by yourself. Different feelings and emotions will show in your heart while you read If I stay and Where she Went, and I totally recommend them to you, especially if you enjoy reading love and drama, because you will have an amazing time reading them and they will become your favorite books!! |
